Less than a week after its successful June 27, 2026 launch at the Ayala Malls Market! Market!, the Motorcycle Division of Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (SPH) hosted a media test drive of the all-new Suzuki Burgman 15 (Suzuki says that it’s pronounced “One-Five” not “Fifteen” – Ed.). Dubbed at the “Intelligent Luxury Ride”, the media ride was designed to showcase the Burgman 15 as a capable, practical and efficient way of going about the metropolis on board a luxuriously comfortable scooter.

The new Suzuki Burgman 15 maxi-scooter was launched on June 27, 2026 at the Ayala Malls Market! Market! in Taguig City.
The Burgman 15 is powered by a 149cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder motor that pumps out 14.2 horsepower (10.6 kW) at 8,500 rpm. Mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to provide twist-and-go riding ease, the Burgman is claimed to return a fuel mileage of around 43.6 kilometers per liter. Equipped with a switchable Traction Control System (TCS) to help manage its 14.2 Newton-meters (10.47 ft-lbs) of torque, especially in slippery conditions, the Burgman 15 comes with front and rear disc brakes with dual channel anti-lock braking system (ABS).

Riding into Friday Traffic
SPH deliberately chose July 3, 2026, a Friday, to conduct the ride around the weekend traffic-snarled streets of Metro Manila. The media participants gathered at the Suzuki Roosevelt Guanzon 3S Shop along Fernando Poe Jr. Avenue (formerly Roosevelt Avenue) in San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City, where a light lunch was served, along with the customary welcome remarks and several briefings about the Burgman 15, the ride route and safety reminders, the mechanics of the activity, and of course, the mandatory photo ops before the casual send-off ceremonies.

SPH Motorcycle Division Marketing Manager Cyril Aguadera enjoins the media participants to enjoy the Intelligent Luxury Ride.

Take-off point of the Suzuki Intelligent Luxury Ride was the Suzuki Roosevelt 3S dealership along Fernando Poe, Jr. Avenue in Quezon City, owned and operated by the Guanzon Group of Companies.
The media participants were requested to don their best “dapper” attire to emphasize the “intelligent luxury” of the Burgman 15. The convoy of 10 Suzuki Burgman 15s along with a contingent of ride marshals and camera men on board Burgman EX models took off from the dealership at a little past 2:00 PM, passed through Araneta Avenue into San Juan to traverse Little Baguio and experience the new maxi-scooter’s torque on uphill rides. The convoy then passed through the heavy traffic on Wilson Street in Greenhills where the Burgman 15’s low-center of gravity made it stable and easy to balance and squeeze through traffic gaps.

Some dapper media participants, SPH officers and Suzuki Rosevelt/Guanzon personnel posed for a souvenir shot before the convooy took off.
Changing Riders Near the Metal Giant
From Wilson Street, the convoy turned right into Ortigas Avenue, left on EDSA, right on Corinthian Avenue, and then left onto White Plains Avenue, where the slow traffic pace, road undulations, and speed bumps demonstrated the smooth ride of the Burgman 15’s suspension, which is composed of front forks and rear dual shocks with remote reservoirs. The front 110/80-14 and rear 130/70-14 tires with their adequate sidewalls helped soak up the bumps and deliver a, ahem…, luxurious and comfortable ride.

It’s not easy to be cool and dapper under the hot sun and slow-moving traffic while wearing a heavy leather jacket like Joel Joya of Motorsiklo News/Sakay Pilipinas.
From White Plains, the convoy hanged a right towards Eulogio Rodriguez, Jr. Avenue, which is more commonly known as “C5”, all the way to the underpass at the Ortigas Avenue flyover, where the convoy made a U-turn and then headed into the Robinson’s Bridgetowne complex. There, the SPH Motorcycle Division Marketing Team welcomed the convoy, conducted a group photo under Victor, the metal giant, (Really, that’s his name? – Ed.)and allowed a few minutes for the riders to take photos and make their contents before switching with other media participants, who will ride the maxi-scoots for next phase of the activity.

We’re still all smiles after riding from QC to Bridgetowne under the hot afternoon sun and through slow-moving heavy Friday traffic because the Burgman 15 made everything intelligently and luxuriously easy.

We had a quick photo op under the shadow of Victor, the metal giant at Bridgestowne, where a different set of participants took over the riding duties. We got lucky and rode again because the scheduled media rider wasn’t around.
Taking the Long Way to BGC
With new riders on board the ten Burgman 15s, the convoy exited Bridgestowne through Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Avenue, filtered into Ortigas Avenue, and took the flyover interchange to C5. From C5, the convoy turned left into Canley Road, passed where the former SPH factory was located, and rode uphill before the 4-way intersection to once again demonstrate the Burgman 15’s strong torque and easy climbing power. The convoy crossed into Christian Route, turned left into Shaw Boulevard, that merged with Pasig Boulevard, and then took a left turn back into C5.

Anyone who regularly rides around Metro Manila will question the long, indirect route that Suzuki Motorcycles PH chose for this activity but it was really meant to showcase the Burgman 15’s capabilities around the city…

… nothing else says “Intelligent Luxury Ride” than dapper riders on Suzuki Burgman 15 maxi-scooters.
The convoy turned right into 32nd Street to enter Bonifacio Global City (BGC) and continued straight until turning left into 7th Avenue and another left into 31st Street to stop at Dean & DeLuca, a popular upmarket café and restaurant in BGC. The riders and media participants were treated to luxuriously delicious and hearty snacks and were given time to rest, take photos and videos, and create their contents. It was also an opportunity to change riders for the last leg of the activity.

When our convoy of ten Suzuki Burgman 15 max-scooters arrived at Dean & DeLuca at BGC, it attracted a lot of onlookers, kibitzers, and interested motorcyclists.
Night Ride to Rockwell Powerplant
It was already nightfall when the convoy of ten Suzuki Burgman 15s left the basement parking area of the ORE Central Tower where the upmarket café is located. It was the perfect scenario to experience the Burgman 15’s powerful LED headlights, which casts a wide swath of light unto the roads around the dark streets. The convoy rode down 9th Avenue, turned left into 36th Street, right into 8th Avenue, and on to the Kalayaan Bridge over the Pasig River. From Kalayaan Avenue after the bridge, the riders turned right on Brixton Avenue, turned left on Reliance Street, right on Pioneer Street, left on Williams Street, left on Sheridan Street, right on Pines Street, left on Union Street, left on Madison Street, and right into Boni Avenue into the underpass crossing EDSA.

The night ride through rush hour traffic gave us the opportunity to experience the powerful LED lights and highly legible TFT instrument cluster of the Burgman 15.
The traffic buildup from the evening rush hour at the underpass and on these streets showcased the easy maneuverability and comfortable ride of the Burgman 15. The convoy rode through the heavy traffic along Boni Avenue, turned left into Barangka Drive, through the one-way detours that lead into the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge, and crossed the Pasig River again to get into Rockwell. After turning right into Rockwell Drive, the convoy arrived at the Rockwell Powerplant Mall, the last destination for the day-long activity.

Dinner, Prizes and Awards
The media participants were served a sumptuous dinner at Mamou’s, an upmarket restaurant, to reward those who braved the hot sun, traffic snarls, and long indirect route around the metropolis, while wearing their dapper attire. SPH Motorcycle Division’s Cyril Aguadera and Edelyn Yanilla handed several awards and prizes to the participants who submitted the best reels and the best photos, along with special awards for those who donned their dapper wardrobe.

Inang Moto Rio Haina Sebastian was chosed as the Best Intelligent Luxury Outfit among the lady participants while the author was chosen as winner among the male media riders.

Shawie Dizon won for Power Wheels Magazine the Second Place for Best Reel in the Individual category.
The entire “Intelligent Luxury Ride” activity showcased the exclusive features of the new Suzuki Burgman 15 maxi-scooter, such as the seamless Auto Start/Stop function, dual-mode Day/Night TFT instrument cluster, smartphone Bluetooth connectivity, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), USB charging ports in the front glove compartment and in the 25-liter storage bin under the seat, its large 8-liter fuel tank, and its keyless ignition system. Priced at P165,000, the new Suzuki Burgman 15 is a highly tempting proposition and an utterly attractive choice, competing in the hotly-contested 150cc maxi-scooter market.
After such a fun day riding the new Suzuki Burgman 15, all we can say is, “Wow!” Well done, Suzuki!
