May 11, 2026, Quezon City, Philippines. A group of off-road enthusiasts composed of Eddie Alvarado, Armand Bunag, JC Joseph, and actor Albert Martinez held a press conference at the Pandan Café along Scout Limbaga in Quezon City to announce their plans for the upcoming Trail Venture Epic Trophy (TVET), which is scheduled to take place on September 24–27, 2026, in Cavinti, Laguna.
Envisioned to be a landmark gathering within the off-road and overlanding community, the TVET 2026, in association with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), is being promoted as the first-of-its-kind international team-based off-road challenge in the Philippines and in the ASEAN region. The event promises to be an immersive off-road expedition combining technical driving, strategic navigation, team coordination, and real-world endurance. The course will traverse a disused logging road, ensuring a controlled and professionally managed environment around the forests of Cavinti.
Skill, Teamwork & Vehicle Capability Matters Most
TVET 2026 Event Director Eddie Alvarado explained that teams of 5 participants, consisting of 4 members each on 4 modified off-road vehicles and one enduro motorcycle rider, will navigate through a virgin jungle trail that’s more than 20-kilometers long within a set time. The participants will rely on skill, teamwork, and their vehicles’ capabilities while strictly adhering to safety and environmental protocols.
JC Joseph estimates that around 20 teams from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, consisting of some of the best off-road competitors in the country, are going to participate in the TVET 2026 Trophy Competition. The winning team will represent the Philippines in the region’s biggest off-road events, including the Borneo Safari, TransBorneo, and Meratus Expedition Indonesia. As an additional incentive, a cash prize pool of over ?1,000,000 awaits the winning team.
4×4, Off-Road and Overlanding Expo
Albert Martinez, who’s an avid off-roader himself, likens the Trail Venture Epic Trophy to the “Binibining Pilipinas Universe” contest where the winner gets to compete abroad while carrying the Philippine flag and the country’ pride. Aside from the off-road competition, the event will include camping and overlanding activities, displays and demo drives of the latest 4×4 vehicles in their natural element, radio-controlled (RC) miniature 4×4 competition, outdoor activities, a bonfire night, and entertainment, plus fun games for the entire family.
The TVET 2026, which is composed of Trophy, Overlanding, and Expo components, offers a lot for 4×4, off-road and overlanding enthusiasts – you can challenge your team and yourself in the competition, you can simply display your modified 4×4 rig, or just camp out in the great outdoors with your family. Whatever you choose, the event offers the camaraderie of the off-road community and the experience of a lifetime!
