VolvoPH teases New XC60 At NordicCham Crayfish Party

Last September 16th 2017, Volvo Philippines gave local motoring media a sneak peek at the XC60 SUV which will be launched later this year, at one of the biggest Scandinavian gatherings in Metro Manila, the 70’s themed, Crayfish Party at the Sofitel. This XC60 replaces the original launched 9 years ago which became Europe’s best selling premium mid-sized SUV.

New Safety Technology

Volvo, synonymous with safety has added new technologies to the latest XC60, like Steer Assist is now part of the groundbreaking City Safety system. The new Oncoming Lane Mitigation system uses Steer Assist to prevent head-on collisions, while Volvo’s Blind Spot Indication System (BLIS) also uses Steer Assist to reduce the risk of lane-change collisions.

An option on the XC60 is Volvo’s advanced semi-autonomous driver assistance system. Pilot Assist. This takes care of steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads up to 130 kms per hour.

Under the Hood

Volvo will be offering a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel that puts out 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed Geartronic transmission.

Entertainment and Comfort

Sensus, Volvo’s infotainment system gets a graphical update and improved usability as well as the On Call app. Integration with CarPlay and Android Auto is also available.   There’s a new CleanZone, four-zone climate control system which removes harmful pollutants and particles from the cabin delivering Scandinavian-fresh air on the inside. The interior is a blend of beautiful materials and the very latest technology providing a truly Scandinavian experience.

Volvo Cars’ new XC60 has been in production since mid-April at the Torslanda Plant in Sweden and is now available for reservation in the Philippines.
