VespaPH unveil the PX150 and GTS 150

To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the iconic Vespa scooter brand, Vespa Scooters Philippines introduced their latest models – the Vespa GTS Super 150 3V i.e. and limited edition Vespa PX 150.

Willy Tee Ten, the head honcho of the Autohub Group of Companies said that they have few stocks of the iconic Italian-made PX 150 because that’s all that Piaggio SpA can supply. “We wanted to order more but they were running low on stocks”, he added.

The latest PX 150 still comes with a twist-shift 4-speed manual transmission, carbureted 2-stroke forced air-cooled single-cylinder engine but it now offers a different front suspension that comes with a front disc brake, and a new stepped saddle with thicker padding for improved comfort.

The GTS Super, on the other hand, was developed for the times. “Because of the heavy traffic that we experience on our roads, we felt that a 250cc or 300cc motor would be overkill because you won’t be able to use the power produced by the bigger motors”, said Mr. Tee Ten. “So we took it upon ourselves to order the GTS Super which is powered by a fuel-efficient 150cc, 3-valve, electronic fuel-injected single-cylinder engine.”

A quick test ride of the GTS Super showed us that it’s still quick and perhaps more agile and easier to ride because of its smaller engine. The Vespa PX 150 offers a vintage riding feel but with a more comfortable ride, thanks to its new suspension.

The Vespa PX 150 retails at P255,000 while the Vespa GTS Super is priced at P200,000. One is an instantly recognizable classic icon while the other one is the appealing modern version that will soon become an icon.

Schedule a test ride of the new Vespa scooter models with Vespa Scooters Philippines at the Bonifacio Global Center (BGC) in Taguig.
