After its regional debut in Brazil in October 2021 and after its introduction in Columbia, General Motors (GM) has just launched the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 in Chile, the fastest growing automotive market in South America. The Colorado pickup truck is marketed as the Chevy S10 in other markets in the region where the Chevy Silverado is marketed as the flagship truck model.
The 2022 Colorado Z71 stands out from the rest of the models for its more robust and aggressive appearance. “It is aimed at customers who prefer a truck as a personal vehicle given their adventurous spirit, and who value an off-road look, with all-terrain tires and a roll bar,” said Macarena Bravo, Marketing Manager of Chevrolet Chile. “At the same time, this truck is robust, safe and ready for all types of roads,” she added.
The 2022 Colorado Z71 is positioned as a mid-range model in Chile and includes a suite of standard technology and safety features but does not include the electronic driving aids featured in high-end models. It is equipped with the 2.8-liter Duramax XLD28 inline-4 turbodiesel engine that produces 197 horsepower and 500 Newton-meters of torque. Power is directed to a 6-speed automatic transmission before being sent to all four wheels working in conjunction with the 4×4 shift on the fly system.
The 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 is now available throughout the entire Chevrolet dealership network in Chile, which is the fourth South American country to receive this latest version of the midsize pickup after Brazil, Paraguay and Colombia. The new pickup truck includes more than 20 exclusive design elements that give it a highly distinctive look. (Source: Deivis Centeno/ GM Authority Daily Digest)
