Bangkok, Thailand – Nissan Celebrates Landmark Line Integration at Samut Prakan Manufacturing Plant

Nissan has officially launched its groundbreaking line integration at the Nissan Motor Thailand Plant in Samut Prakan Province, marking a significant milestone in the company’s longstanding commitment to manufacturing excellence. To commemorate this achievement, a celebratory ceremony was held at Nissan’s flagship Plant Line #1, honoring decades of dedication to quality and innovation, while also signaling a new chapter in its manufacturing journey.

Toshihiro Fujiki, President of Nissan Thailand and ASEAN, expressed his enthusiasm: “Nissan remains steadfast in its commitment to expanding our presence across Thailand and the ASEAN region. A key strategic initiative this year is upgrading our production lines to enhance cost competitiveness and ensure readiness for future model localization. This forward-looking transformation empowers us to continue delivering exciting, high-quality vehicles made in Thailand, for our valued customers both locally and around the world.”

Nissan’s roots in Thailand date back to 1962 with the establishment of its first manufacturing plant. Since then, the company has grown alongside the nation’s automotive industry. The current flagship, Nissan Motor Thailand Plant Line #1, was inaugurated in 1975 at its present site in Samut Prakan Province. Over the past five decades, this facility has produced over 2.5 million vehicles, serving both the domestic market and numerous export destinations, cementing Nissan’s reputation as a key player in Thailand’s automotive landscape.

The ongoing line integration project, slated for completion in the second quarter of 2025, signifies Nissan’s dedication to innovation and future readiness. Once completed, the new, fully integrated production line will manufacture current models such as the Almera, Kicks e-POWER, Navara, and Terra, along with upcoming models, ensuring efficiency, flexibility, and enhanced quality standards.

This initiative underscores Nissan’s strategic vision to bolster local manufacturing capabilities, meet evolving market demands, and sustain its legacy of manufacturing excellence in Thailand for generations to come.
