All-New BYD Shark 6 DMO Electrified Lifestyle Pickup Truck Unveiled

BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of AC Mobility, officially launched the all-new BYD Shark 6 DMO electrified pickup truck adding to the brand’s cutting-edge lineup of electric vehicles. The Shark 6 DMO, which is available in Advanced and Premium variants, promises to deliver a unique driving experience by combining power, efficiency, and versatility to meet the needs of adventure seekers and those who demand rugged capability and modern technology.

Dual Mode Off-road (DMO) Technology

BYD’s revolutionary Dual Mode Off-road (DMO) technology allows the Shark 6 DMO to effortlessly switch between electric and fuel power modes to adapt to any driving condition. Two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors powered by a 29.6kWh BYD Blade battery and charged by a high-efficiency 1.5T onboard generator provide 231 PS (228 horsepower) and 310 Newton-meters of torque to the front wheels and 204 PS (202 hp) and 340 Nm to the rear wheels.

The combined output of 435 PS (430 hp) and 650 Nm of torque distributed to its innovative all-wheel drive (AWD) system provides the Shark 6 DMO with enhanced traction and stability while BYD’s proprietary Cell-to-Chassis frame and Blade Battery enhances the vehicle’s rigidity and safety. This seamlessly optimized efficiency and performance offers an exceptional driving experience for everything from city commutes to rugged terrain.

Electrified Lifestyle Pickup Truck

The bold, muscular stance of the Shark 6 DMO is highlighted by a commanding front grille that showcases the BYD mega symbol, LED headlights, and connected daytime running lights. Sleek, clean lines that enhance aesthetics and performance give the Shark 6 a strong and commanding presence. The two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, standard for both variants, complement its modern styling by providing traction and emphasizing its off-road readiness.

With front and rear double wishbone suspension, 835-kilogram payload capacity, and 2,500-kilogram towing capacity, this electrified “lifestyle” pickup truck boasts a remarkable 230 mm ground clearance and a 700 mm wading depth, that allows it to traverse challenging landscapes with ease, from uneven off-road paths to flooded streets. The Shark 6 DMO also offers three drive modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport – and multi-terrain modes like Sand and Mud, to adapt to various driving conditions and preferences.

Innovative Interior

The cabin of the Shark 6 DMO blends premium materials with a minimalist design. Leather seats are accentuated by striking orange highlights. The Premium variant comes with a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, 4-way lumbar support, and seat heating and ventilation for the two front seats. Rear seatbacks of the backseat are reclined by 27 degrees. Along with the cabin’s expansive knee-room, this seating configuration ensures a more relaxing posture for rear passengers over long drives.

At the heart of the modern yet functional interior is a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen display that seamlessly integrates with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both the Advanced and Premium variants come equipped with an 8-speaker sound system, providing an immersive audio experience that takes advantage of the cabin’s low Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) figures.

Safety and Comfort for Every Journey

The BYD Shark 6 DMO is equipped with a wide range of standard safety features, including Cruise Control, a 360-degree View Camera, Front and Rear Sensors, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent System and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The Premium variant elevates safety further with Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and a Heads-Up Display, ensuring peace of mind for every driver.

Compelling Price Range and Introductory Offers

The BYD Shark 6 DMO Advanced is priced at P2,098,000 while the Premium variant is priced at P2,298,000. First-time BYD customers will get a P50,000 discount while current BYD owners will receive an additional P50,000 for a total of P100,000 discount when they purchase a Shark 6 DMO by March 31, 2025. A discount of P100,000 will also be applied to first-time customers who were referred by existing BYD owners.

Buyers of the BYD Shark 6 DMO have a choice of three color options: Deep Sea Blue, Cosmos Black, and Aurora White. It comes with an 8-year/160,000-kilometer warranty for the BYD Blade Battery, an 8-year/150,000 km warranty for the drive unit, and a 6-year/150,000 km warranty for the vehicle.
