ACMobility, Ayala’s leading mobility solutions group and a pioneer in electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in the Philippines, has announced a strategic partnership with Shell Pilipinas Corporation (Shell) to deploy new EV charging stations nationwide. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in ACMobility’s vision to establish over 2,500 charging points, reinforcing the Philippine EV Spine—the country’s first comprehensive, nationwide EV charging backbone.
Driving Sustainable Mobility Forward
“Shell is one of the most trusted service providers for motorists, with strategically located sites nationwide,” said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility. “We are excited to partner with Shell in expanding the Philippine EV Spine Network. Beyond infrastructure growth, this collaboration supports the burgeoning EV community and accelerates the country’s transition to sustainable mobility.”
The Philippine EV Spine is ACMobility’s ambitious infrastructure network designed to facilitate seamless, long-distance EV travel across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. By leveraging Shell’s extensive network of service stations, ACMobility aims to rapidly expand this backbone, providing EV drivers with increased confidence and convenience. The wider accessibility aims to address range anxiety and ensure Filipinos have reliable charging access wherever they travel.
Initial Phase: 50 Stations with Integrated EVro Charging Technology
The initial rollout will see the installation of charging stations at 50 Shell service stations nationwide, featuring over 100 charging points. The first 20 sites are scheduled to commence installation in the last quarter of 2025, spanning key locations across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The remaining 30 stations will be deployed in 2026. Each station will feature DC fast chargers ranging from 60 to 120kW, designed to meet the needs of today’s EV drivers.
EV owners will be able to locate, monitor, and pay for charging sessions conveniently through the Evro app—developed by Evro, the Philippines’ leading e-mobility service provider and ACMobility’s strategic partner. In August, Evro and Shell announced a partnership that enables app users to access information on Shell Recharge EV charging stations, further enhancing user convenience and visibility.
Supporting ACMobility’s Vision and Strengthening the EV Infrastructure
“With this partnership, ACMobility is making significant strides toward its 2025 targets,” noted Jolo Valdez, Head of Non-Fuel Retail and E-Mobility at Shell. “By opening our stations to host ACMobility’s charging infrastructure, we’re helping create a more reliable, accessible, and integrated EV charging network across the country.”
As the partnership progresses, ACMobility is accelerating its nationwide expansion, particularly in major urban centers such as Makati, Taguig, and Cebu, as well as in key regions across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Collaborating with partners across residential, commercial, food, and hospitality sectors, ACMobility is committed to making EV charging more accessible and inclusive—ultimately fortifying the Philippine EV Spine as the backbone of sustainable mobility.
