TMP Foundation Turns 35, Announces 5th Advocacy Pillar

TMP Foundation, the social and humanitarian arm of Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) celebrated its 35th Anniversary with the launch of their health care initiative and the introduction of their fifth advocacy pillar. Since 1990, the foundation has carried out the carmaker’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities and initiatives through its four established pillars of Community, Education, Environment, and Health.

The Foundation’s 5th pillar, Mobility+, which is designed to focus on providing access to essential services in underserved areas, was introduced by Alfred Ty, who serves as the Chairman of both TMP and TMP Foundation. “In synergy with the other advocacy pillars, Mobility+ will create a bigger impact through the mobility of people, mobility of things, mobility of information, and mobility of free and creative ideas for many Filipinos,” Ty announced.

HEAL Project

The 35th Anniversary celebration showcased the Healthcare Mobility for All or HEAL Project, which is a collaboration between TMP Foundation, Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) of Japan, and the Philippine General Hospital (PGH). Designed to improve how both patients and medical staff access health care services, particularly in areas where transportation is a major hurdle, the HEAL Project officially began with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on July 9, 2025 and will run until December 2026.

The HEAL Project features two major components. The first is a mobile clinic where Toyota Coaster units, which are fitted with medical diagnostic equipment and internet connections, will be online with PGH’s systems to allow patients to schedule appointments and receive treatment faster. These will be deployed to places like Cavite, where getting to PGH can be difficult. The second is a dedicated shuttle service for health care workers utilizing three Toyota New Generation Tamaraw units to ferry PGH staff when commuting is either limited or unreliable.

Shuttle for First Responders

“We believe that our Mobility+ and Health advocacies can empower and change lives,” said Alfred Ty. It can be recalled that TMP was the first to provide shuttle service vehicles for PGH first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nanako Kumamoto, TMF Program General Manager stated, “We recognize that mobility can enhance the availability of transportation for health care professionals, and also improve health care accessibility for the Philippine public. With this project, we hope to create a model that can be replicated in other communities.”

PGH Director Dr. Gerardo Legaspi said the parties would work together to maintain the highest standards of health care while bringing it closer to communities. “At PGH, we see every day how mobility shapes the health care journey for the patients who travel great distances to seek care and the dedicated professionals who provide it. As the health care partner for the HEAL Project, we will provide medical services within each mobile clinic, while also supporting shuttle service operations for our medical personnel,” he said.

Uplifting the Lives of Filipinos

For its advocacy pillar on Education, the TMP Foundation has donated and invested a total of P800 million in various activities, including the University of the Philippines Asian Center building and auditorium, the TMP School of Technology, as well as its scholarship program and other scholastic projects. Its Environment pillar has supported reforestation goals through the Adopt-a-Forest Program and biodiversity conservation through a partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to protect the endangered Tamaraw species.

The Foundation has supported housing, health care and transportation initiatives in Santa Rosa, Laguna as part of its Community advocacy pillar. And with the devastation caused by floods from the recent typhoons and monsoon rains, the TMP Foundation actively worked with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to bring much-needed relief to affected areas, and pledged a cash donation of P3.5 million, specifically for the procurement of rice for the victims.

For its Health advocacy, the Foundation has served over 101,000 beneficiaries across the country through its medical, dental and surgical outreach programs. It also supported the Lab for All program led by First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos. Aside from TMP and TMF, the HEAL Project is supported by Toyota Mobility Solutions Philippines (TMSPH) and the Deloitte Future of Mobility Solution Centre, which will oversee development and implementation. Indeed, the TMP Foundation has been helping uplift the quality of life for Filipinos.
