The historic district of Binondo in Manila, which has the distinction of having the oldest Chinatown in the world, now holds another distinction: It is home to BYD Chinatown, the only car dealership of any brand located in that bustling district. Located at Juan Luna Street in front of the Plaza San Lorenzo Ruiz, the new car dealership, which is owned and operated by Alphamile Auto Group, officially opened its doors last March 6, 2025 with a lion dance and other traditional Chinese ceremonies that provide good luck to the business.
Officials of BYD Cars headed by Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division and James Ng, Managing Director of BYD Singapore and BYD Philippines, joined Manila City Mayor Hon. Honey Lacuna, BYD Philippines Country Head Aiffy Lu, AC Mobility Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, Mobility Access Philippines ventures Managing Director Bob Palanca, and Alphamile Auto Group executives led by Chairman Juanito Tionson, President Paul Angelo Tionson, and Executive Vice President Mark Angelo Tionson in cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

BYD Chinatown will showcase the brand’s full range of innovative fully electric, DMO and DM-i technologies with the latest BYD models such as the Seal, Atto 3, Seagull, Sealion, Tang, Han and Shark 6 DMO. It will serve as the hub for BYD’s sales, service, aftersales and customer support in the historic district and nearby areas. The new dealership demonstrates the commitment of BYD to continue its expansion across the Philippines, contribute to the country’s transition towards electric mobility, and support the government’s drive towards a cleaner environment.
