Toyota Upgrades Motor Sports Program with Vios Racing Festival 2019

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), a Philippine motor sports advocate for quite some time, has
announced it’s plans to elevate its homegrown motor sports program this year with the
launch of the Vios Racing Festival 2019, an event slated to continue the trailblazing five year legacy of the Vios Cup.

Toyota Motor Philippines aims to show off the thrills and cheers motor sports can inspire within people, desiring to bring the racing action to not only car enthusiasts, but everyone with a knack for experiencing heart-pumping excitement.

“Through the Vios Racing Festival 2019, Toyota makes the waku doki experience more personal by intensifying the overall experience,” said Toyota Motor Philippines President Satoru Suzuki. Waku doki is a Japanese term that describes that surge of  emotion and joyful anticipation that one feels, especially in thrilling and intense moments. It’s this waku doki principle that defines Toyota’s racing programs all over the world.

Vios Racing Festival 2019 will feature two major elements – the Vios Circuit Championship and the Vios Autocross Challenge.

Using the all-new Vios, racers of various backgrounds in the Vios Circuit Championship will face the tracks of Clark Speedway in Pampanga. The participants will be classified under three classes: promotional, sporting and celebrity. With three legs and three races per leg, as well as mini Autocross challenges at the end of each leg, audiences and racers alike will have loads of exciting races to look forward to in June, September and November.

On the other hand, the Vios Autocross Challenge will have racers competing in a timed competition. Held within a specially designed obstacle course, participants can share the tracks with celebrities, media and car club racers as they navigate the path. This event will be held in Metro Manila, with the goal of making the races more accessible to the public, whether as participants or spectators.

Through these activities, Toyota Motor Philippines wishes to not only promote the sport, but also to instill among Filipinos the importance of improving driving skills and prioritizing safety. To quote Satoru Suzuki once more as he and Toyota Motor Philippines unveil one more exciting announcement, “To boost and encourage the Filipino interest in motor sports, we will also bring back the greatly-missed Toyota Racing School,” said Suzuki. Through its official motor sports partner Tuason Racing School, Toyota Motor Philippines will be helping participants enjoy optimal racing
experience.
