ToyoFest culminating activity happening today at Mckinley West

What started as a car festival to celebrate the beauty of cars has transformed into something bigger: ToyoFest Philippines (TFP), the biggest gathering of Toyota-based car clubs and enthusiasts in the country, is now advocating for road safety and driver protection. For its culminating activity today, August 6, 2016 at the McKinley West Festival Grounds, motorists will take the pledge to protect everyone on the road.

“We are surprised to see that there are so many people passionate to creating safer roads for everyone,” shares Martin Estrella, the festival’s founder. “Our legs in Pampanga and Cebu proved to us that there’s really a clamor to create change. We would like to lead this movement through ToyoFest Philippines.”

For its culminating activity, the festival is pulling out all the stops with performances, promos, freebies, and discounts:

  • All car entry participants will receive a shirt, cap, and sponsor freebies. Those who will present a Certificate of Attendance from TFP Pampanga or TFP Cebu will get a limited edition Toyofest Philippines 2016 sticker.
  • Shell V-Power Nitro+ will give free car washes and premium Shell giveaways for those who will post a creative shot in the Toyofest Page of their dirty Toyota, using the hashtag #SVPNxToyofest.
  • Caltex Delo Sports will award the best Land Cruiser, Fortuner, Hilux, Innova, and HiAce at the festival, and will give free Delo Sports engine oil and premium giveaways.
  • 3M Automotive Tints will be having tinting stations during the event and will offer as much as 50% on selected tints.
  • The Mocha Girls will give a performance and DJ Aryan Magat will spin for the crowd.

“This event is a big thank you to everyone who has supported TFP since the beginning,” says Estrella. “Our last two legs have been successful, and we would like to continue the momentum. Hopefully this advocacy will be permanent.”

For its kickoff event last May 14, Toyota car clubs and enthusiasts enjoyed sumptuous treats from food trucks, music from DJs, frisbee competitions, and barbecues. Guests were invited to the Fuse Festival, where DJs from Switzerland, Japan, and the Philippines led the party until the morning.

On June 18, TFP held its second run in Cebu, where enthusiasts attended drivers’ seminars to learn proper knowledge when driving. An autocross event was also held to show that regular drivers can take part in proper and responsible driving on the track.

All runs of the TFP showcased the unity of car clubs and enthusiasts, and their love for their Toyota vehicles. Like its previous legs, the culminating activity will feature vintage, high-performance, rare, and even stock Toyotas from all generations.

“Our dream of creating a culture of responsible driving is slowly turning into reality. This event hopes to unite advocates of road safety and make lasting change,” ends Estrella. “We want the future generation to enjoy safer roads where there are no cases of road rage, and drunk or reckless driving. #WeDriveForSaferRoads is no longer a hashtag, it has become a virtue.”
