The All-New Porsche Panamera launched

On February 16, 2017, Porsche Philippines unveiled the All-New Panamera. Roomier and with better ergonomics, it’s longer by 35mm, wider by 5mm and taller by 5mm than its predecessor. With a profile more like a sports car now and less like hatchback, its connection is to the 911 is more apparent.

The All-New Panamera fully embodies the Porsche passion for technology and innovation, the company mantra of “Porsche Intelligent Performance” resonates in its spacious cabin.

The Porsche Advanced Cockpit is reality in the Panamera. The dashboard has touch-sensitive glass surfaces and a centrally mounted tachometer pays tribute to the historic 1955 Porsche 356 A, there are a couple of seven-inch high-definition displays, and 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay, and a new voice control system.

Initially available in the Philippines Is the Panamera Turbo Variant, with a 4.0L V8 under the hood which puts out 550HP with 769NM of torque which takes it to 100kph in 3.6 seconds. This is mated to an eight-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung or double clutch) transmission. A top track speed of 306kph has been recorded. The driving dynamics change with a press of the Sport button allowing the optimum parameters for engine management and gear selection, including coasting and deceleration.

Safety and driving convenience is cutting-edge tech, there’s Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Radar sensors on the front scanning the road ahead. Porsche InnoDrive takes advantage of the high-resolution navigation data and information from the radar and video sensors, determines speed limits and topographical road features, such as gradients or corner radii, along the route before the vehicle reaches them and modifies the gearshift strategy and speed.

Comfort is heightened with the new three-chamber air suspension system with 60 percent greater air volume enabling a much larger spread of spring rates. The suspension is electronically adjusted in fractions of a second as necessary either when accelerating and braking or to reduce body roll.

The Panamera delivers both sportiness and comfort – able to offer a plush ride when touring and able to competently handle a track day. The multi-function sports steering wheel is laid out ready for a spirited drive or more a laid back one.

You have the option of ambient lighting which bathes rear interior with indirect, non-glare glow with customizable intensity and a choice from seven amazing lighting colors. Customers have the luxury of choice of materials, colors, combinations and themes via Porsche’s customization program.

“Like many car lovers out there, I am immensely elated with the arrival of the all-new Porsche Panamera in the country,” said Porsche Center Philippines head Roberto Coyiuto III. “Measured by whatever yardstick, it’s clearly head and shoulders above the competition in all aspects — reflecting the best of what Porsche is known for.” Coyiuto added that other variants of the Panamera, such as the 4S and V6, will brought into local showrooms as well.
