“Tayo Na Sa Antipolo!” (Let’s Go To Antipolo!): Terrafirma Motors Corporation Delivers 40 Modern Jeepneys to the Antipolo Transport Service Cooperative

Terrafirma Motors Corporation (TMC), a subsidiary of the Columbian Group of Companies, recently delivered 40 units of the Terrafirma Modern Jeepney to the Antipolo Transport Service Cooperative (ATSC) as part of the government’s transport modernization program.

The ATSC Board of Directors led by Chairman Andres C. Libed, Vice Chairman Bruno G. Mallanao and four other directors were accompanied by General Manager Arsenio Fugaban to witness the turnover and the rollout of the brand-new proudly Philippine-made Class 3 (Front Facing) modern jeepneys piloted with smiling faces by 40 ATSC drivers.

The Terrafirma MPUV is built on a robust Chengdu Dayun light commercial vehicle (LCV) 4×2 truck chassis powered by a 2.8-liter CRDI turbo-intercooler inline 4-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The MPUVs feature onboard WiFi, air-conditioning, accommodations for 20 seated passengers and 15 standing passengers. Equipped with 4-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS), active and passive safety features are designed into the MPUV body, which is built in-house at the 100,000-sq.m. TMC factory in the Laguna International Industrial Park (LIIP) in Biñan, Laguna.

Prior to delivery, TMC organized and conducted a product training and familiarization of the MPUV for the ATSC members and drivers, who were also given a plant tour to see how the Modern Jeepney is manufactured and assembled, as well as a visit to Parts Warehouse to see TMC’s aftersales capabilities. A test drive around TMC’s road test facilities further demonstrated the vehicle’s easy drivability, maneuverability and torque, especially for the hilly routes covered by the ATSC members.

A symbolic key turnover from TMC President Felix J. Mabilog, Jr. to ATSC Chairman Andres C. Libed was greeted with the thunderous applause of the ATSC members and drivers, and TMC officers and employees who were present.

If you’re commuting around the Antipolo area, make sure to get a ride on the latest ATSC Terrafirma Modern Jeepney. Sakay na! (Hop on!)
