Sustainable energy sources and related technologies once again took center stage as the PhilEnergy Expo 2025 opened its doors from March 19 to 21, 2025. The comprehensive energy trade event gathered local and international leaders, brands, organizations, and businesses from the energy and related industries for an annual exposition and convention focusing on revitalized energy sectors.
The annual PhilEnergy Expo, still anchored on its thrust for ‘Shaping the Philippines’ Energy Sector for a Sustainable Future,’ served as an effective platform for highlighting the existing and potential collaborative efforts that propel the clean energy revolution toward a sustainable and net-zero future. The three-day show continued to foster the development of innovative renewable and clean energy solutions and related technologies aimed at shaping the country’s energy industry, particularly in the production and utilization of electricity.
“PhilEnergy Expo 2025 continued to be the right platform that paved the way for showcasing the latest innovations and technologies, as well as for discussing the most pressing and significant issues and developments defining today’s evolving energy sector,” said Rungphech Rose Chitanuwat, Country General Manager of Informa Markets Philippines, the event’s organizer.
The energy trade event featured five major energy profiles—Renewable Energy (RE), Energy Efficiency (EE), Electric and Power (E&P), Electric Vehicles (EV), and Energy Storage (ES). Each field aligned with the sustainable, continuously evolving, and green initiatives that the local energy sector prioritized in conjunction with global energy commitments and targets.

Advancing Sustainable and Clean Energy
The Philippines continues to push forward in transitioning toward greater reliance on renewable energy. According to the Philippine Energy Plan 2023-2050 by the Department of Energy (DOE), clean energy is expected to account for 35% of the country’s energy generation mix by 2030 and more than 50% by 2040.
Alongside this, significant growth and development were seen in related energy sectors. Energy Efficiency (EE) technologies and practices continued to gain support as both public and private sectors worked together to utilize energy more efficiently. Electric and Power (E&P) projects expanded, aiming to address scarcity and distribution challenges, especially in rural areas.
Meanwhile, Electric Vehicles (EVs) gained traction as more vehicle users shifted to electricity-powered cars, which are energy-efficient, emission-free, and increasingly affordable, thanks to government policies and legislation. As the EV sector grew, so did the Energy Storage (ES) sector, as the demand for more efficient battery solutions surged.

The event also highlighted industry convergence, bringing together energy professionals, innovators, and policymakers for dialogues, networking, and knowledge-sharing.
