Hino Motors Philippines (HMP), the exclusive distributor of customized Hino trucks and buses in the Philippines, joins PhilBus and Truck 2019, the biggest international business-to-business (B2B) event for buses, trucks and commercial vehicles in the Philippines. The expo, which will run from July 24 to 26, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, will feature the latest variety of buses, trucks, heavy vehicles and maintenance equipment. A total of 150 exhibitors will be participating in the three-day event.
Hino will showcase its HMP Class 2 Cabless, HMP Class 3 Cabless and Cerito units at the expo. The Centro Class 2 with Cab and Centro Class 2 Cabless units will be available for free ride from Shell EDSA Heritage or Shell EDSA Malibay to SMX, and back.
This year’s PhilBus and Truck exhibition is expected to be the largest gathering of PUV manufacturers across the country, especially in support of the ongoing government initiative to modernize the Philippine transport system. HMP Chairman Vicente T. Mills, Jr. will discuss the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) and share how the company is supporting the PUVMP initiative through its modern jeepney units at the 4th Transport Cooperative National Congress scheduled for the third day of the trade event. The congress, which is made possible through a partnership with Hino, is one of the forums organized for the three-day transport event.
“We’re honored to have been invited to speak at the Transpo Congress. As a pioneer participant in the PUVMP, we would be glad to discuss how our Hino units are helping the program transform the country’s transport system,” shared Mills. HMP has been an active supporter of and participant in the PUVMP, designing and developing the first batch of modern jeepney units. To date, Hino has turned over more than 100 modern jeepney units to several transport cooperatives in Taguig, Pateros, Makati, Quezon City and Iloilo. Hino also recently joined the Modern PUV Caravan, a joint undertaking that aims to bring modern PUV vehicles to different cities in the Philippines.
