NissanPH returns to Payatas with Habitat for Humanity

Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) and its partner, Habitat for Humanity (HFH) Philippines, recently returned to the community of Bistekville 5 in Brgy. Payatas, Quezon City to paint the houses they built for the community as part of its CSR initiative.

“When we started working with Habitat for Humanity last year, Nissan pledged to help Filipinos in need realize their dream of owning their own home. We, together with our friends and associates at Nissan, are back here today to put truth in our promise,” SJ Huh, NPI GM for Marketing said.

Engineer Mila Salazar of Surge Cooprative, HFH’s implementing partner for the project facilitating the activity and were joined by Francis Macatulad, HFH’s Head of Volunteer Programs. Volunteers from NPI and Nissan dealerships painted the houses that the team built back in December 2015.

The partnership between NPI and HFH, which was formalized last August 2015, saw the donation of the Nissan NV350 Urvan and award-winning Nissan Navara for the ReStore program and disaster response activities, as well as the donation of over fifty house repair kits in the Shelter Rebuild Drive to Oras, Samar. The Shelter Rebuild Drive benefited those devastated by Typhoon Ruby in December 2014, and was joined by NPI and Nissan dealership employee volunteers, as well as members of the Philippine media.

Once completed, the donated houses by NPI are expected to be turned over to the residents of the community later in the year.
