Nissan recalls select vehicles due to faulty Takata airbag inflators

In an effort to uphold safety and maintain satisfaction among Nissan customers, Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI), has issued a voluntary recall campaign for select vehicle models due to faulty passenger airbag inflators. This effort follows the lead of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., in light of the defective Smokeless Passenger Inflators (SPI) from Japanese auto parts supplier Takata.

Nissan vehicles included in this recall are the 2003 to 2008 production units of the Nissan Frontier, the Nissan X-Trail 200, the Nissan Patrol, and the 2004 to 2008 Nissan Teana models.

Owners of the affected vehicles can call the Nissan Customer Assistance Center (NCAC) hotline at (02) 403-65-93 or visit their nearest Nissan Dealership to schedule a repair appointment. Labor Costs and Parts replacement of affected units will be carried out at no cost to customers.
