MG Philippines reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable mobility and strategic collaborations by hosting the exclusive MG 5-Star Drive event, showcasing the All-New MG HS Hybrid+, the brand’s latest hybrid innovation.
This special event brought together 30 distinguished bank officers from some of the Philippines’ most trusted financial institutions, including (in alphabetical order): Banco de Oro Unibank (BDO), Bank of China (BOC), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), China Bank Savings, China Banking Corporation, EastWest Bank (EWB), Maybank, Philippine National Bank (PNB), Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank), Philtrust Bank, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), Security Bank Corporation (SBC), and Sterling Bank of Asia.
The day began at MG Greenhills, where guests were welcomed with breakfast and introduced to the All-New MG HS Hybrid+ and its advanced safety features. At 9:30 a.m., participants embarked on a convoy drive designed to mirror the typical driving conditions faced by Filipinos daily.
The route showcased a seamless transition from the traffic congestion of EDSA to the open highways of NLEX, progressing through varied road conditions en route to Pampanga. This carefully curated journey demonstrated the MG HS Hybrid+’s adaptability, highlighting its efficiency, comfort, and confidence in both urban and long-distance driving.
Certified by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), the MG HS Hybrid+ boasts an official fuel-economy rating of 21.55 km/L. During the on-road fuel economy challenge, participants pushed the hybrid’s performance to its limits while practicing efficient driving techniques. The results were impressive: two groups surpassed expectations with an outstanding 22.2 km/L.
The first group to arrive was driven by representatives from China Bank Savings and Sterling Bank—Mr. Francis Mendoza, Mr. Paulo Condes, Ms. Marivic Dela Fuente and Ms. Eliz Solomon. Shortly after, a second team comprising Security Bank’s Mr. Earl Moulic and Ms. Lovely Esguerra, along with Maybank’s Mr. Donnie Ray San Diego and Mr. Noel Austria, completed the drive—further demonstrating how optimal fuel efficiency can be achieved in real-world conditions.
The journey wrapped up at Rare Bar and Grill in Clark, Pampanga, where participants enjoyed an afternoon of dining, networking, and deeper engagement with the MG brand.
Beyond the product experience, the MG 5-Star Drive emphasized MG Philippines’ commitment to strengthening its partnerships with the banking sector. Through collaborative efforts with financial partners, MG continues to improve accessibility to hybrid mobility via competitive financing programs, faster loan processing, and increased in-branch visibility—helping more Filipinos experience the benefits of sustainable driving.
By combining advanced hybrid technology, industry collaboration, and customer-focused mobility solutions, MG Philippines is driving toward a smarter, greener, and more practical future for Filipino drivers.
