Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), the country’s distributor of Isuzu vehicles, encourages people to “Live Life Differently” – to go beyond the comfort of our homes, to explore the outdoors, and open ourselves up to more adventures – with the new 2020 Isuzu D-MAX Boondock 4×4. IPC claims that that their new tougher and upgraded pickup truck has been designed to handle all types of terrain – sand, gravel, riverbed, mud, and rocks. “The Boondock 4×4 is purposely named after the mountains”, said IPC President Hajime Koso. “The Boondock boasts of rough and rugged styling, coupled with the exceptional engine performance of Isuzu, which makes it perfect for off-road driving.”
Built upon the D-MAX 4×4 LS-A model, the Boondock 4×4 is powered by a Euro-4 compliant 4JJ1-TCX Blue Power 3.0-liter inline 4-cylinder diesel engine with VGS turbo charger and intercooler that churns 175 horsepower (177 PS) at 3,600 rpm and 380 Newton-meters of torque between 1,800 and 2,800 rpm. Power is coursed through either a 6-speed manual transmission (MT) or a 6-speed automatic transmission (AT) with sequential shift before being delivered to the tried-and-tested Isuzu 4-wheel-drive system and unto the stylish matte black off-road rally-type 17-inch rims shod with meaty 265/70R17 all-terrain tires. Nitrogen-charged front and rear monotube shock absorbers ensure instantaneous response and offers faster damping reaction in any road condition, which results in a more controlled ride and improved steering control in whatever terrain and driving conditions.
To generate an even tougher and more rugged image, the Boodock 4×4 is equipped with steel side steps with the “Boondock” logo and easy-to-clean honeycomb design that provides easy ingress and egress for the occupants and protects the body of the pickup truck. The customized “Boondock” decal on the tailgate, hood and body pays tribute to the country’s highest boondock, Mount Apo. Available in Red Spinel, Cosmic Black, Titanium Silver, and Silky Pearl White, this latest Isuzu D-MAX variant is now available with introductory prices of P1.725 Million for the Boondock 4×4 MT and P1.795 Million for the Boondock 4×4 AT. As a part of Isuzu’s Monsoon Promo, a P95,000 discount is available until the end of June.
