Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), celebrated two decades of success last July 29th with an event dubbed the “Isuzu Big Meet” held at the Megatent in Libis QC. Bringing together Isuzu vehicle owners and Isuzu vehicle clubs. In attendance were Team Isuzu Pilipinas, Team Isuzu Car Enthusiast and mu-X Owners Philippines. IPC also held a car show open for all clubs to join in categories like Best AUV, Best Pick-up and Best SUV for stock and categories like Best Engine Set-up, Best Sound/Entertainment System Set-up, and Best 4×4 Vehicle Set-up for modificed vehicles.
IPC executives and motoring media present were the judges, and the winners were Victor Candelaria (Best AUV), Dr. Roman Remo (Best Pick-up), JT Lerma (Best SUV), Ivan De Castro (Best Engine Set-up), Deni Von Amatorio (Best Sound/Entertainment) and Vic Makimkim (Best 4×4 Set-up). They received cash prizes, trophies, Petron fuel cards and premium Isuzu merchandise; the first and second runner-up winners also won as cash prizes, Petron fuel cards and premium Isuzu merchandise.
Special prizes were given to the Oldest Isuzu Model which was a 1976 Gemini owned by Alex Cabungal and Highest Km Mileage belonged to Chito Villanueva’s Isuzu Hi-Lander with 998,628 kilometers on his odometer.
All in all, 300 Isuzu owners and their vehicles participated in the gathering which also had on display Isuzu’s current light commercial vehicle line-up, namely the Crosswind AUV, D-MAX pick-up and mu-X SUV, alongside its iconic models like the Hi-Lander, Fuego pick-up and Alterra. IPC granted exclusive 20% discount to all event participants on Isuzu Merchandise, parts and accessories on display.
As the day wore on, there were fun games like the burger and hotdog eating contest participated by all members of Isuzu clubs, and day was capped off with performances by the IPC Band, Pub Forties and PUPIL.
IPC President Hajime Koso expressed his elation over the success of the program, saying that the event is a true testament on the reliability and trustworthiness of the brand with Filipinos motorists.
“We are thankful for the trust that you have continually showed us over the course of the years. We value this partnership and rest assured that we will continue to provide utmost quality and topnotch service every time you would seek our service,” Koso said. “Just like car clubs, we want everyone to join hands and be united not just on meets, but also on the road,” he added.
