Ford F-150, America’s Best-Selling Truck, Makes Philippine Comeback with Full Options and Attractive Prices

When Ford Philippines announced a week ago that they were launching the 2020 Ford F-150 pickup truck today (June 24th), we immediately speculated that they were launching the 14th-generation F-150. But last Monday (June 22nd), Ryan Lorenzo, the Marketing Director of Ford Philippines, gave us a sneak peek of the vehicle and confirmed that they were, in fact, launching the 13th-generation F-150 to reintroduce the F-Series pickup truck to the Philippine market.

For those who are not in the know, Ford’s F-Series trucks are America’s bestselling truck for the 43rd straight year, while the Ford F-150 is America’s bestselling vehicle for the 38th straight year. When Ford returned to the Philippines in the late ’90s, they brought their big guns, the Ford Expedition and the 10th-generation Ford F-150 SuperCab, and both models immediately became the “must-have” vehicles at the time.

Reintroducing the Ford F-150 to the Philippines 

Today, Ford Philippines held the online launch of F-150 pickup truck, which sets the standard with its strong look and outstanding design, powerful performance, class-leading capabilities, and advanced smart and safe technologies. Two variants of the “Built Ford Tough” F-150 are being offered to discerning Philippine buyers – the F-150 4×4 Platinum SuperCrew AT and F-150 4×2 Lariat SuperCrew AT. “The F-150 is definitely a strong addition to our pickup truck portfolio in the country. Both F-150 variants are equipped with Ford’s proven 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology that generates 375 horsepower (380 PS) and 637 Newton-meters of torque. Power is routed to a 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift that delivers tremendous power for heavy-duty use while staying fuel efficient.

The F-150 4×4 Platinum variant adds an Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly (ESOF) system to fully utilize the power of the EcoBoost engine and direct it to the four wheels when traversing rough terrain. Standard across both are body color bumpers, 20-inch alloy wheels, high strength aluminum alloy body, daytime running lamps, quad-beam headlamps, LED foglamps and taillamps, and front tow hooks.

Intelligent Technologies and Safety Features

The F-150 comes equipped with a host of smart and safe features that enhance the driving experience for both drivers and passengers. The Ford Co-Pilot 360 enhances safety by utilizing the latest active safety technology including Pre-Collision Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Lane Keeping System (LKS), and Auto-High Beam Headlamps.  On the other hand, its driver assist technologies include 360-degree camera with split-view display, Active Park Assist, Curve Control, Hill Start Assist, SOS Post-Crash Alert System, Trailer Sway Control, Rain-Sensing Wipers, and Reverse Sensing System.

Additional advanced safety technologies include AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control (RSC), Dual-Stage Front Airbags, Front-Seat Side Airbags and Safety Canopy System with Side-Curtain Airbags and Rollover Sensor; Individual Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft System, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), and Perimeter Alarm.  For the convenience of the driver and passengers, the latest F-150 is equipped with a remote start system, remote tailgate release, 8-inch LCD touchscreen,SYNC 3 with AppLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, 2 smart-charging USB ports and 12-volt Powerpoint, navigation system, 8-inch productivity screen in the instrument cluster, and a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system with subwoofer.

2020 Ford F-150 4×4 Platinum SuperCrew AT

Exclusively on the F-150 4×4 Platinum AT exterior is a silver mesh satin-aluminum grille and tailgate applique, chrome side mirror caps, door and tailgate handles, tail-gate step with tail-gate lift assist, bright belt line moldings, high-gloss black B-pillar applique and platinum badge on fender sides, twin panel moon roof, power deployable running boards, and 20-inch 6-spoke polished alloy wheels shod in 275/55R20 all-terrain tires.

The interior features a unique and luxurious leather interior with genuine black ash wood trim accents, aluminum applique in center panel and console, unique instrument cluster gauges, leather-wrapped console lid and shift knob, 10-way power adjustable driver and front passenger seats with ActiveMotion massage function, inflatable rear seat belts, color-coordinated carpet flooring with premium floor mats, and metallic door sill inserts with PLATINUM branding. This variant comes in four colors including Blue Jeans, Iconic Silver, Agate Black and Star White, which is a special color with an additional P15,000 premium on top of the 2020 Ford F-150 4×4 Platinum SuperCrew AT’s introductory price of P2,998,000.

2020 Ford F-150 4×2 Lariat SuperCrew AT

Ford Philippines’ F-150 4×2 Lariat SuperCrew AT is a notch above the standard Lariat variant because it comes with the SPORT appearance package that comes with a body-color grille with black mesh, side mirror caps, door and tailgate handles, magnetic angular step bars, and SPORT box decals. The interior also features a unique Lariat finish on the instrument panel, media bin lid and doors, and leather seats. Its 20-inch alloy wheels are painted a darker hue and are wrapped in 275/5520 all-season tires.

This F-150 variant comes in four colors including Rapid Red, Oxford White, Iconic Silver and Agate Black and comes with an introductory price of P2,698,000.
