ACMobility Expands Electric Vehicle Charging Network in Partnership with Robinsons Malls

ACMobility, a premier provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions and infrastructure in the Philippines, has announced a strategic partnership with Robinsons Malls, one of the country’s largest shopping mall and retail operators. This collaboration aims to significantly expand the EV charging network nationwide, supporting the growing adoption of electric vehicles by alleviating range anxiety and increasing accessibility, especially in key provincial areas.

Driving the Future of Green Mobility

As one of the country’s leading mall operators, Robinsons Malls provides us with the perfect platform to scale our EV charging infrastructure,” said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility.Through this partnership, we are deploying charging stations in highly accessible, high-traffic locations to create a reliable, nationwide EV charging backbone. Our goal is to address range anxiety, enhance connectivity between cities and provinces, and empower more Filipinos to embrace EVs as a sustainable and practical mode of transportation.

Deployment Across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao

The initial phase involves launching ten EV charging hubs, all expected to be fully operational by the first quarter of this year. Each hub will feature two 22kW charge points, with the exception of Robinsons Butuan, which will be equipped with two 7kW charge points. Currently, five hubs are already operational in key locations:

  • Robinsons Malls in Ilocos Norte (Luzon)
  • Robinsons Mall Iloilo(Visayas)
  • Robinsons Mall Roxas  (Visayas)
  • Robinsons Mall Dumaguete (Visayas)
  • Robinsons Mall Pagadian (Mindanao)

Upcoming sites include additional hubs in Luzon—Robinsons Tuguegarao, Santiago, La Union, and Antique—and in Mindanao—Robinsons Iligan, Butuan, and Valencia. Once completed, these stations will mark some of the northernmost points of ACMobility’s expanding EV Spine Network, enhancing coverage and accessibility across the archipelago.

This initiative not only broadens ACMobility’s geographic reach but also underscores Robinsons Malls’ commitment to sustainability and community development. By integrating EV charging facilities into its malls, Robinsons continues to evolve as a forward-thinking, environmentally responsible developer—creating spaces that delight customers while contributing to a cleaner, greener future.

Expanding the Philippine EV Ecosystem

Building on this network expansion, ACMobility reaffirms its dedication to establishing a comprehensive EV Spine Network that offers convenient charging options from Pagudpud in the north to Pagadian in the south. This strategic rollout along major routes and popular destinations aims to make EV ownership more practical, accessible, and reliable for Filipino drivers nationwide.

All stations are easily locatable via ACMobility’s partner e-mobility service provider, Evro. This all-in-one EV charging app offers features such as the Station Finder, real-time station availability, navigation assistance, and in-app payment—ensuring a seamless charging experience for users.

Supporting a Sustainable Future

Buencamino emphasized that the new charging stations are designed to support the increasing number of EV users and encourage more Filipinos, particularly those in provincial communities, to switch to electric vehicles. “This is just the beginning,” she said. “We have more infrastructure plans for key cities as demand continues to grow.”

She also highlighted the importance of dispelling misconceptions about EVs being suitable only for city driving. “By bringing charging facilities closer to regional communities, we are sending a clear message: owning an EV is practical and sustainable, regardless of where you live. With Robinsons Malls’ support, we are confident we can bring this transformative infrastructure to more Filipinos across the country.”
