The all-new A-Class is the first Mercedes-Benz model to feature the MBUX system, which has the ability to learn with its AI or artificial intelligence. It can adapt to the user to create an emotional connection between the vehicle, driver and passengers. Its comprehensive touch operation concept combines a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a touch pad on the center console and Touch-Control buttons in the steering wheel. The system is designed to be operated intuitively to minimize driver distraction.

The MBUX system features an intelligent virtual assistant, which is activated by pressing a button in the steering wheel or by simply saying, “Hey Mercedes”. It caters to voice commands to attend to infotainment functions such as destination input, music selection, climate control, and ambient lighting. Its natural speech recognition program helps it recognize and understand nearly all sentences from the fields of multimedia and vehicle operation. A free-standing high-resolution Widescreen Cockpit with touchscreen control features an all-digital instrument panel display that can be switched to different styles from “Classic”, “Understated” or “Sport” modes.

The free-standing Widescreen Cockpit complements the turbine-look air vents and multifunction leather sports steering wheel. The A-Class’ interior also defies convention by disposing of the cockpit cowls above the instruments. It simply evokes modern luxury and advanced technology. The top-of-the-line A200 Edition 1 variant sports an ambient lighting function that allows the driver to configure different moods with the extended ambient lighting from 64 available colors that can be activated by voice command.

The exterior of the all-new A-Class exudes sportiness, dynamism and emotion. The progressive front design features a shark nose-like look complemented by a low hood, flat LED headlamps with chrome elements, and torch-like daytime driving lamps. The hatchback shape is attuned to the wind and has a familial connection to the sportier and more expensive Mercedes-Benz models.

The all-new Mercedes-Benz A-Class is powered by a new generation of powerful yet fuel efficient 4-cylinder engines. A 1.3-liter 7-speed DCT engine that produces 136hp and 200Nm of torque powers the A180 while a similar but super-tuned engine that churns out 163hp and 250Nm of torque power the A200. This luxury compact hatchback likewise features world-class safety systems like Active Brake Assist, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic and rearview camera, and seven airbags. It also has an anti-theft alarm system and Tirefit® with tire inflator for roadside emergencies.
