ACMobility Opens Bohol’s First EV Charging Hub in Tagbilaran

ACMobility, a leading provider of end-to-end electric mobility solutions in the Philippines, has opened Bohol’s first electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at the new Kia dealership in Tagbilaran City.

The hub features two 7-kilowatt AC chargers, available to the public through Evro, ACMobility’s partner EV-charging app. The launch brings Bohol onto the Philippine EV map, supporting local interest in EV ownership and paving the way for more charging stations across the island.

“Bohol is an important connector within the Philippine EV Spine. With our first charging station on the island, alongside the new dealership of our partner brand, Kia, we’re making electric mobility more accessible to residents and visitors while supporting the growth of the local economy,” said Carla Buencamino, head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility.

Louise Camille Lumapas, Kia Philippines dealer principal, said the station could help address concerns about access to charging.

“By putting up the island’s first EV charging station at Kia Bohol, we open up the possibility of people owning EVs because they no longer need to worry about where to charge their vehicles. Regardless of whether fuel prices are high, the important thing is that people have freedom of choice because the option is available,” Lumapas said.
Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap said the hub could support tourism in Bohol, the Philippines’ first UNESCO Global Geopark, recognized for its geological and cultural significance.

“This is a proud moment for Tagbilaran and for the whole island of Bohol. Having the first EV charging station here shows that Bohol is ready to move with the times while protecting what makes our island special,” Yap said. She added that the project aligns with the city’s goal of becoming “progressive, innovative, and environmentally responsible.”

Yap said the hub could give residents and visitors greater confidence to travel around the island in EVs, supporting tourism and attracting investment.

ACMobility continues to expand its network across the Visayas, aiming to make EV charging more accessible and reliable. Its Philippine EV Spine network is the country’s largest, with more than 240 charging locations and over 600 charge points.
