Electric vehicle (EV) owners will take center stage at the 14th Philippine EV Summit (PEVS) as the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) partners with the Philippine EV Community (PEVC), the country’s largest EV owners’ network with nearly 100,000 members.
The partnership, formalized on October 14, aims to bring the real-world EV ownership experience closer to the public, giving prospective buyers an opportunity to learn directly from motorists who have already made the switch to electric mobility.
Under the agreement, PEVC will lead an owner-driven EV display at the Summit, featuring vehicles used by Filipino families in their everyday lives. The community will also organize the talks and discussions on the third day of the event, Saturday, October 24, with sessions designed for existing EV owners and motorists considering their first electric vehicle purchase.
PEVC will likewise bring its members and their families to the three-day event, reinforcing the growing role of EV owners in promoting electric mobility in the Philippines.
“The people who convince others to go electric are usually the ones already driving an EV,” said EVAP President Willy Q. Tee Ten. “With the Philippine EV Community on board, visitors get to hear real stories about charging, costs, and daily driving, straight from owners. That makes PEVS a lot more useful for anyone deciding on their next car.”
More EVs, More Choices, More Reasons to Go Electric
With fuel prices remaining a concern for motorists, the Philippine EV Summit offers an opportunity to explore the expanding range of electric vehicles entering the local market.
Themed “Driving ASEAN Forward: Building an Integrated Electric Mobility Ecosystem,” PEVS 2026 will run from October 22 to 24, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
The Summit will showcase vehicles from more than 15 brands, covering a broad range of segments, from compact city cars and family-oriented SUVs to premium and performance models, commercial vehicles, and electric two-wheelers.
Participating brands include BYD, Kia, Toyota, Nissan, MG, Geely, Zeekr, Deepal, MINI, Lotus, Changan, AVATR, Dongfeng Motors, Forland, NWOW, and NXT.
Beyond static displays, visitors will have the opportunity to experience selected models through test drives, allowing prospective buyers to get a closer feel for the performance, driving characteristics, and features of electric vehicles before making a purchase decision.
“For many Filipinos struggling with volatile fuel prices and curious about EVs, the next step is to try for yourself,” Tee Ten said. “At PEVS, we encourage you to see the displays, test drive the cars, and find the one that is right for you and your lifestyle.”
Beyond the Vehicles: Building the EV Ecosystem
While the latest EVs remain a major attraction, the Philippine EV Summit goes beyond vehicle displays to highlight the infrastructure and services needed to support the country’s transition to electric mobility.
Visitors can explore charging solutions ranging from home charging installations to systems designed for commercial establishments, industrial applications, and fleet operations.
Banks, financing companies, and insurance providers will also be present to help prospective buyers better understand the financial considerations of owning an EV. These include acquisition costs, financing options, insurance, and the expenses associated with charging and vehicle ownership.
Policy discussions, including updates from the Department of Energy on the country’s regulatory roadmap, will further highlight the government and industry’s efforts to accelerate EV adoption.
The Summit is presented in partnership with ACMobility, the AutoHub Group of Companies, the Department of Energy, and Toyota Motor Philippines.
Joining the vehicle brands on the show floor are Pioneer Trucks, Autowise, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), MERALCO, Power Equipment & Supplies, Inc. (PESIN), Pyro X, EVOxCharge, BPI, ChargeCube Technologies, Eclimo Electric Management Inc. (EEMI), FCC Philippines, Finasiatech Corp., Intercharge Corp., Jiangsu, Pioneer Insurance, Shandong Longli Electronics, Shandong Weiwei Power, and WeCharge Hyperfast, alongside the event’s media partners.
Driving the Philippines Toward an Electric Future
The 14th Philippine EV Summit comes at a pivotal time for the local automotive industry, as electrified vehicle sales in the Philippines have more than doubled in 2026, according to the event’s organizers. The government has also set a target of achieving 50% EV penetration on Philippine roads by 2040.
With the Philippines serving as ASEAN chair in 2026, this year’s theme places the country’s electric mobility transition within a broader regional context, highlighting the importance of collaboration in developing an integrated EV ecosystem.
As more vehicle manufacturers introduce electrified models and charging infrastructure continues to develop, events such as PEVS provide a platform for motorists to compare available technologies, understand the benefits and considerations of EV ownership, and make more informed decisions about their next vehicle.
The growing involvement of EV owners also underscores an important part of the transition: beyond vehicle technology and government policy, consumer confidence and actual ownership experiences will play a crucial role in encouraging more Filipinos to consider going electric.
The 14th Philippine EV Summit is open to the public for an entrance fee of P100, while students can enter for free.
