MG Motor Philippines officially kicked off the Multiply Greatness Tour 2026 at the Trinoma Activity Center on August 27, 2026. This nationwide roadshow aimed to bring MG’s expanding lineup of electrified vehicles directly to Filipino motorists, offering more opportunities to see, experience, and drive the latest models firsthand.
The tour was the latest expression of MG’s Multiply Greatness campaign—a celebration of how outstanding design, innovative technology, superior performance, and memorable experiences united to create something truly greater. Introducing the Game-Changer: The MG S5 EV
At the heart of this new chapter, making its Philippine debut was the all-new MG S5 EV, an all-electric compact SUV crafted to make every trip more engaging, convenient, and connected. Combining sporty rear-wheel-drive dynamics, versatile SUV practicality, intelligent technology, and efficient electric performance, the S5 EV embodied MG’s promise of “Your Daily Drives, Fully-Charged.”
Power and Performance
The S5 EV boasted a 125 kW (170 PS) peak power and 250 Nm of torque from its Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. Unlike many compact EVs, it delivered power to the rear wheels, ensuring a more engaging drive while maintaining the practicality needed for daily commutes, errands, family outings, and weekend adventures. Multiple drive modes—Normal, Sport, Comfort, Snow, and Custom—allowed the vehicle to adapt seamlessly to various driving conditions and preferences.
Efficient Electric Range and Fast Charging
Powering the S5 EV was a 49 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery capable of DC fast charging up to 120 kW. Under optimal conditions, it could charge from 10% to 90% in approximately 24 minutes. AC charging is supported up to 7 kW, providing flexibility for home charging. With an NEDC range of 415 kilometers, the S5 EV ensured confidence for both everyday travel and longer journeys.
Smart Features for Everyday Convenience
Electric ownership was made easier with features like scheduled charging, battery thermal management, regenerative braking with adjustable settings, and One-Pedal Drive. Its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability allowed the car to supply power to external devices, adding versatility for active lifestyles.
Design and Space
Measuring 4,476 mm in length, 1,849 mm in width, and 1,621 mm in height, with a 2,730 mm wheelbase, the S5 EV offered proportions ideal for city streets and weekend escapes. Inside, it provided 453 liters of cargo space, expandable to 1,441 liters with rear seats folded and underfloor storage included—perfect for everything from daily essentials to luggage for longer trips.
Styling and Exterior Details
Its modern exterior featured sporty accents such as 17-inch alloy wheels with aero fins, projector LED headlights, Racing Flag-design LED daytime running lights, gloss black door mirrors, and a rear spoiler. Load-bearing roof rails supported up to 75 kg, adding practicality for active lifestyles.
Interior Technology and Comfort
Inside, the S5 EV focused on convenience and connectivity. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a 12.8-inch touchscreen display, complemented by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Features like automatic climate control, Smart Entry, electronic parking brake with Auto Brake Hold, multiple USB ports, split-folding rear seats, and a PM2.5 cabin filter enhanced everyday comfort.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Filipino drivers could feel confident with MG Pilot’s suite of advanced safety features, including Front Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, and more. The S5 EV earned 5-star safety ratings from both EURO NCAP and ANCAP.

The arrival of the S5 EV marked a significant milestone for MG Motor Philippines as it expanded its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) offerings. Alongside Hybrid+, Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), MG provided Filipino motorists with more flexible options—whether they were ready for a full transition to electric or preferred hybrid solutions.

The MG S5 EV was offered in Desert Sand Beige, Andes Gray, Cosmic Silver, and Dover White, with a Suggested Retail Price of Php 1,448,888. To celebrate its launch, MG Motor Philippines offered an introductory Php 40,000 discount—bringing the price down to Php 1,408,888.

Customers reserving during the Multiply Greatness Tour enjoyed an additional Php 10,000 discount for a minimum reservation fee of Php 1,000—on top of any ongoing offers.
