Honda Foundation Extends Partnership with Tamang Ride PH to Promote Road Safety Education for Youth and Support Honda’s 2050 Zero Collision Goal

For another year, Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) has renewed its partnership with Tamang Ride PH, a grassroots road safety advocacy movement organized under the initiative of A Child’s Trust is Ours to Nurture, Inc. (ACTION). This collaboration began in January 2025, as HFI sought to broaden its reach to its beneficiaries through targeted road safety programs.

Tamang Ride PH’s advocacy focuses on educating children and beginner road users. Through this partnership, HFI has effectively engaged younger audiences via campus events that promote proper road safety practices and responsible riding habits.

Following the success of the recent Kids on Safety events earlier this month, HFI and Tamang Ride PH collaborated once again to conduct Students on Safety on February 28, 2026, at Paranaque National High School, San Isidro Annex, Paranaque City. As part of the event’s opening, HFI and Tamang Ride PH representatives signed a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), reaffirming their commitment to road safety advocacy.

While Kids on Safety targeted children aged 7-10 years old, Students on Safety focused on teenagers aged 16-18, emphasizing their responsibilities as future drivers and everyday commuters. The event also served as a pre-licensing preparation activity, as participants are soon eligible to apply for their driver’s licenses. Curated specifically for this age group, the modules were based on the foundations of Honda Safety Driving Center’s (HSDC) Teen Smart program.

By the end of the event, 100 students were equipped with the right mindset to follow traffic rules and adopt correct riding practices. To make the learning experience more immersive, HSDC provided a Test Ride activity and a Learn to Ride (LTR) session, allowing inexperienced and amateur riders to try out various Honda motorcycles under the guidance of HSDC instructors.

Ms. Rie Miyake, President of HFI, expressed her gratitude for the partnership, saying, “We are grateful to work with Tamang Ride PH. From their president and founder, Mr. Hajime Yokota, to the rest of the team, they embody the same passion for road safety that we hold. Their dedication translates into insightful and practical activities that inspire change. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and hope to motivate more Filipinos to join our shared advocacy, because road safety is a collective responsibility.”

Through this extended partnership, Honda reaffirms its commitment to its 2050 global safety goal of achieving zero collision fatalities involving Honda vehicles. By 2030, the company aims to cut such fatalities by 50%.
Tamang Ride PH is a nationwide movement dedicated to creating safer roads for everyone, starting with children and new drivers. HFI joined Tamang Ride PH as a Road Safety Ambassador in 2025, with HSDC contributing to the development of educational materials. Members of HFI include Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), Honda Parts Manufacturing Corp. (HPMC), and Honda Trading Philippines Ecozone Corp. (HTPE).
