Kia Philippines Empowers Filipino Technicians to Achieve Global Excellence Kia Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, celebrates the graduation of the first batch of cadets from the Kia Technician’s Boot Camp (KTBC), a program designed to equip Filipino technicians with world-class skills. The initiative aims to enhance local expertise and open pathways to international careers, including the opportunity for top cadets to compete at the 12th Kia World Skills Cup in Seoul, South Korea, scheduled for 2026. “Through the KTBC program, we’re creating pathways for Filipino technicians to advance their careers both locally and globally. This initiative provides them with the essential skills to excel in an ever-evolving automotive industry and prepares them for leadership roles within Kia’s global network,” said Rommel Ramos, Aftersales Director of Kia Philippines. Driving Excellence, Empowering Futures Launched in September 2024, KTBC offers advanced training in preventive maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and servicing of fuel-powered vehicles, hybrids, and electric vehicles (EVs). The curriculum emphasizes technical expertise alongside the development of positive behavior, leadership, and character. This holistic approach ensures cadets are well-rounded, capable of delivering exceptional service beyond technical proficiency. Held at the Kia Training Center in Carmona, Cavite, in partnership with Don Bosco Makati and Batangas State University, the program provides intensive, hands-on training. Graduates become proficient in Kia Diagnostic Systems (KDS) and advanced troubleshooting tools, equipping them to service both traditional and next-generation vehicles. Global Standards, Global Pathways KTBC incorporates international best practices, ensuring technicians meet global standards. High-performing graduates have the opportunity to represent the Philippines at the Kia World Skills Cup, a biennial event where technicians worldwide showcase their skills. Beyond technical training, cadets participate in character development sessions led by industry leaders from ACMobility, focusing on brand values, professional conduct, and leadership. Their education includes mastery of service process standards, interpretation of technical service bulletins, and advanced diagnostics in areas like noise, vibration, and harshness. Transforming Careers and Communities KTBC offers long-term career prospects, with fifteen graduates now employed across Kia’s dealership network. Many come from underserved communities, empowered with skills that open doors both locally and internationally. The second batch of cadets is expected to join KTBC in August 2025, reaffirming Kia’s commitment to cultivating top-tier talent for the future of mobility. “KTBC is an investment in the future of Kia’s service excellence in the Philippines. As we continue to redefine mobility for Filipino families, we are empowering a new generation of technicians to deliver world-class service with precision, care, and innovation. Through KTBC, we are strengthening Kia’s promise of a better, smarter, and more connected future for every customer,” Ramos added.
