TMP Augments BEV Lineup with the All-New Toyota bZ4X

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), which has the biggest market share in the local automotive industry, has considered the protection and preservation of the environment as one of the core pillars of its car manufacturing and distribution business. TMP has long espoused carbon neutral and electrified mobility in the country with the introduction of the Toyota Prius Hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) in 2009. 16 years later, TMP now has the widest range of electrified vehicles in the country with 22 electrified models under its Toyota and Lexus brands.

TMP has marketed all-electric models through its Lexus luxury brand with the UX (left) and the RZ (right) battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

On December 11, 2025, TMP added another electrified model with the all-new Toyota bZ4X, TMP’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV) under the Toyota brand. It augments TMP’s full-electric BEV lineup that includes the Lexus RZ and UX. The debut of their all-new all-electric BEV was highlighted by the release of the first Toyota bZ4X units to their respective customers. “I’ve been a Toyota owner since the 1980s and I’m confident with their service and parts,” shared one of the first customers. “My family keeps our cars so I’m sure that the bZ4X will be with us for the long run,” another customer shared.

The bZ4X is the very first BEV under the Toyota brand here in the Philippines.

“It takes time and strategic planning to roll out our multi-pathway approach to carbon neutral mobility,” shared TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Elijah Marcial. “It involves customer education and preparedness, and providing technologies and solutions that are most appropriate for the market’s needs. From our lineup of HEVs, and with the BEVs of our luxury brand Lexus, we believe we’re ready to make BEVs more mainstream with the Toyota bZ4X, especially with Filipino users’ better understanding of EV technologies along with the improving charging infrastructure,” she added.
