Timepieces Thursdays: 2025 Luminox Navy SEAL 3500 Series

When we want to wear a wristwatch with the seal of approval of the U.S. Navy SEAL teams, we grab our two Luminox Navy SEAL 3500 Series timepieces. Launched in 2017, this military dive watch is a modern evolution of the classic Luminox 3001 series, the Swiss watchmaker’s iconic tactical dive watch. Its high-precision Ronda 515 quartz movement is housed inside a bold “turtle-shaped” 45 mm case that’s optimized and engineered to endure the toughest conditions on “Sea, Air and Land”, which comprise the Navy SEAL acronym and areas of operations.

The United States Navy SEALs are one of the toughest yet stealthiest military units around.

Our black Navy SEAL 3500 comes with a case, unidirectional rotating bezel, and bracelet that’s made from CARBONOX, Luminox’s proprietary carbon-based compound that makes the watch incredibly light at only 87 grams. CARBONOX is also hypoallergenic and highly resistant to shocks, scratches, and extreme temperatures. The matte-black finish enhances the watch’s stealth and tactical aesthetic, minimizing reflections and wear.

A scratch-resistant hardened mineral crystal showcases the black dial, which features large white numerals swept by a black syringe-like seconds hand. Black pencil-type hour and minute hands tell the time while a small square window at the 3 o’clock position shows the date. The signature Luminox Light Technology (LLT) self-powered system uses tritium gas tubes to provide a constant glow for up to 25 years without requiring sunlight or battery power to charge. LLT simply makes telling time in the dark easy.

Our white Navy SEAL 3500 Series is the Arctic Edition. Luminox intended this timepiece for use in missions across unforgiving snow-covered alpine mountains. This purpose-built military dive watch features a white case and rubber strap with a bold black dial for instant contrast and visibility, even in whiteout conditions. The LLT tubes provide instant low-light readability while the all-white fiberglass-compound components are built for durability in freezing temperatures.

As expected from a military dive watch, our black Navy SEAL 3500 and white Arctic Edition are both water-resistant up to depths of 200 meters, with protected screw-in crowns, security gaskets, and 316L stainless steel screw-on case backs. The case back of both watches are embossed with the official US Navy SEAL trident insignia, which symbolizes the elite strength, resilience, and commitment of the SEALs. It is a tribute to their spirit and a reminder of the unbreakable character that these watches embodies, which is the “seal of approval” we mentioned earlier.

The case back of the black XS.3510 CARBONOX is embossed with the official US Navy SEAL trident insignia…

… ditto with the white XS.3507.WB Arctic Edition.

The case diameter is listed at 45 mm but if you add the crown and protector, the actual width of this military dive watch is nearly 51 mm.

The Navy SEAL 3500 Series military dive watches are a bit hefty at around 15 mm thick.

Prices for the black Navy SEAL 3500 (Ref. No. XS.3510) ranges from around P22,000 (used) to P35,000 (new) while prices indicated in the official Luminox Navy SEAL 3500 Series Storefront ranges from $595 to $695 US Dollars. Expect the prices of the Artic Edition (Ref. No. XS.3507.WB) to be slightly lower, but only by a little. After all, these military dive watches are embraced by military powerhouses and are trusted by heroes who understand the advantage of unrivaled luminosity and precision.
