MNTC opens widened NLEX northbound lanes

Mabalacat, Pampanga Mabalacat, Pampanga

The Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC), builder and operator of the North Luzon Expressway, recently opened the new northbound lanes, starting at the Dau to Sta. Ines areas in Mabalacat, Pampanga to accommodate the expected surge of holiday travelers.

Formerly a two lane, side by side, area have been widened to become two lanes on both northbound and southbound directions. This P235-million expansion project includes the construction of new northbound bridges at Balem and Quitanguil.

Another road widening project costing P2.2Billion expanding both directions of the two lane portion between Sta. Rita and San Fernando into three lanes is set to be completed before the end of 2016.

These widened areas of NLEX are the areas where queues of vehicles usually form during holidays when large numbers of motorists leave Metro Manila for northern destinations.
